On August 22, 2026, Wandi Primary school in Katrini sub county will host the third edition of the “run for her dream” event aimed at raising at least sh18m for the school fees of 42 girls.
Organised by the Uriama Seff Empowerment Foundation (USEF), the annual charity run will also provide sanitary pads, scholastics materials for the sponsored girls for one year.
Alice Komugisa, a master trainer at USEF explained that the purpose of the charity run is to help vulnerable girls, most of whom were forced out of school by teenage pregnancy.
“The sponsorship helps them to go back to school after six months of nursing their babies,” she said.
The girl’s families are taken through a specific positive parenting lesson for mindset change and guide them to redefine their family vision.
The sponsored girls are then sent to Aripea secondary school. Each year, USEF has supported 14 girls (2 from every sub county) in Terego district through the charity run.
“Provide hope and bright future for the vulnerable girls. Create a lasting impact beyond your lifetime,” appealed Komugisa.
Bosco Andiku, the USEF Program Development Manager who also is in-charge of organising the charity run disclosed that truck kits are already being sold at sh30,000 at the USEF office at Ocodri trading Center in Bileafe sub county.

The truck kits including vests can also be purchased from a shop at Wandi trading center, Peace for Women office in Arua town and from the Terego district headquarters.
“Those who are not able to participate in the run for one reason or another can buy kits for school children to represent them,” Andiku said.
But donations can also be in cash and in-kind ranging from sh2,000 upwards.
For instance, sh2,000 can buy four pens for a girl for a term, sh5,000 can buy one counter book for a sponsored girl and sh10,000 donation will purchase one counter book, four pens and a sanitary pad for a sponsored girl.
Donations can also be channelled through MTN merchant code 52265954 or mobile phone number 0793662128 which are registered in the names of Uriama Seff Empowerment Foundation.
