Hon. Balaam Barugahara, a prominent Ugandan businessman and State Minister for Gender, Labour, and Social Development in charge of Children and Youth Affairs, recently opened up about his remarkable journey to wealth.
In an exclusive interview with Spark TV, Hon. Balaam revealed that he became a billionaire at the young age of 25, a statement that has left many Ugandans both inspired and astonished.

Being a medium taxpayer, he said, confirms the legitimacy of his financial status. “I pay a lot of taxes, and I employ many young people across the media houses we own and the different businesses we are running,” he explained.
Hon. Balaam stressed that while he accumulated wealth early, his primary focus today is serving humanity. He explained that not everyone who approaches him is seeking financial support; many people come for mentorship, guidance, and advice on personal and professional challenges.
“Right now, I am only serving humanity,” he said. “All I ask from God is the ability to listen to people’s challenges and offer guidance where I can. Not everyone who comes to my office wants money; some need advice, mentorship, and direction in life.”
His journey to financial success was shaped by a mix of entrepreneurship and media investments. Hon. Balaam has built a diverse portfolio that includes media ownership, music promotion, and other business ventures, all of which contributed to his early billionaire status.
