PARLIAMENT: SATURDAY, MAY 16, 2026
Being a registered professional engineer, declared Hon William Taylor Tiyo Odaa, the Ayivu East Constituency Member of Parliament, my focus will be on improving the road networks and the bridges.
This was shortly after being sworn in on Friday at the Precincts of the Parliament amidst fanfare created by the troupe of entertainers from the Uganda National theater.
It was an event witnessed by members of his victorious campaign task-force and family members who kept company with Engineer Tiyo throughout the campaign period and the swearing-in.
The legislator urged his supporters to continue exhibiting the calmness that has come to define a new era of politics in Ayivu East after five years wasted in chaos.
He stressed that it is time for service delivery and therefore his supporters should embrace people from the rival camps and demonstrate the wisdom of tranquility and peaceful coexistence in order to achieve unity and cohesion in the constituency.

He was backed by the Jonam County Member of Parliament, Marshall Alenyo who predicted that one of them could even rise to a ministerial position before the end of the 12th Parliament.
“I want to confirm to you my brother Tiyo that your name has already been added into the list of professionals in the Parliament,” he said.
“Congratulations to the people of Ayivu East for knowing how to vote,” he added.
Alenyo said he will work closely with Eng Tiyo, an indication that the building blocks for a united West Nile parliamentary caucus has already begun and will only grow as the new legislative and regional development agenda takes shape.
