My name is Sarah, and I live in Kampala, Uganda. For years, I hoped to find a man who would love me sincerely, respect me and eventually settle down with me as we built a family together.
Sadly, my journey through relationships was nothing like the happy experience I had always imagined. Whenever I met a new man, I would become excited and hope that I had finally found someone who was right for me.
Some of my relationships lasted a few months, while others continued for years, but none seemed to progress to the marriage I had always wanted.
Initially, some of the men I dated appeared committed to building a future with me. They would talk about marriage, introduce me to their friends and make promises about the life we would share. However, with time, their attitudes and behaviour would begin to change.

After several relationships ended unsuccessfully, I started examining myself and questioning my choices. I wondered whether I kept falling for the wrong men or whether there was something about me that made it difficult to find someone willing to commit to a lasting relationship.
Meanwhile, my friends were getting married and establishing their own families, but I was still single. I was always pleased to see them happy, although there were times when I returned home feeling lonely and wondering when I, too, would find someone to share my life with.
Eventually, I decided to step away from dating for a while and give myself more attention. I also resolved not to rush into another relationship simply because I was afraid of remaining single or felt that I needed someone to complete my life.
