A woman from Jinja has opened up about her emotional experience of how her marriage almost broke down after her husband became distant, stopped communicating openly with her and appeared to lose interest in their relationship.
The woman, who requested to be identified as Sarah, said there was a time when she and her husband were extremely close. They spent time together, talked about their plans and supported each other through various challenges.
She said she never thought their relationship would eventually reach a stage where meaningful communication became difficult. According to Sarah, the changes began gradually.
Her husband started spending more time away from home and showed less interest in having conversations. Whenever she asked him what was happening, he would often give brief responses or avoid talking about the situation altogether.
Sarah said the growing emotional distance eventually began affecting the atmosphere at home. They started quarrelling over minor matters, while conversations that previously ended calmly would increasingly turn into serious disagreements between the couple.
“I could tell that something had changed between us,” Sarah said. “We were staying under the same roof, but emotionally it felt as though we were miles apart. I kept asking myself what I had done wrong.”
She said she tried different approaches to restore the closeness they once shared.
Sarah attempted to speak with him, give him some space and remind him of the happy moments they had experienced together, but despite her efforts, the situation did not appear to improve.
